Regular Services

St Peter's offers a range of services designed to cater for the tastes of everyone, young or old, traditional or contemporary.

In addition to the regular services listed below, Festival Days are celebrated throughout the year as announced on the Notices page.

Holy Communion
There are a number of opportunities each week to celebrate communion. We have a said communion at 8am on the1st and 3rd Sunday  and sung Parish Communion at 9.30 am on the 2nd, 4th and 5th Sunday each month. On the 1st Sunday in the month there is Holy Communion with Prayers for Healing at 6.30 pm. There is also a said communion each Wednesday at 10.00 am.

"The Service of the Word", a non-Communion service at 9.30 am, is the main service on the 3rd Sunday of each month .

What is the 9.30 Xtra

The 9.30 Xtra is the main service offered on the first Sunday of each month. It is an All-age service with an informal multi-sensory experience of worship for everyone: families, couples and single people, regardless of age.

The music, played by our music group with supporting singers, is a blend of old and new, played on keyboard, wind instuments and guitars. Each service is different but will always include something for everyone with a variety of participants.

Following all the 9.30 am services there is the opportunity meet up with other members of the congregation for a coffee and a chat in the Church Hall.

Morning Prayer

Morning Prayer is said every day Monday to Friday at 9.00 am in the Lady Chapel.

Prayers for Healing

A service of Prayers for Healing is held on the 3rd Sunday in the month at 11.00 am in the Lady chapel after The Service of the Word. This service is an opportunity to receive the ministry of laying on of hands with prayer for yourself or others. There is also an opportunity to receive prayers for healing during the Communion service held on the 1st Sunday in the month at 6.30 pm.

CAMEO ‘Come And Meet Each Other’

This is held on the last Sunday of the month at 4.30 pm. It is a cuppa and a chat for the bereaved followed by a short Remembering Service.

Toddler Church

During term time, we operate a Toddler Church with Bible stories, songs, colouring-in, drinks and biscuits. This takes place each Monday between 2.00 pm and 2.45pm giving Mums a chance to get together before picking up their older children from school.
