Youth and Children

Journeying together to share our Christian faith

St Peter's Church has a wide range of activities for children of all ages! The following activities are specifically aimed at the younger members of the parish, if you are that little bit older why not look at the Other Activities page?

Crèche

During the Sunday morning Parish Communion we offer a crèche for children aged from birth up to about 3 years when they are able to join in with the activities of Youth Church. The youngsters are looked after for the earlier part of the Communion Service before rejoining their parents in the main service in time to receive a blessing during Holy Communion.

The crèche operates every Sunday, except the first Sunday of each month when all children are encouraged to join the 9.30 Extra service. It is fully supervised by two adult helpers at all times. We are always happy to welcome new children and helpers!

Youth Church

Sunday School - for many people these words conjure images of formal learning and, let's face it, who wants to go to school on a Sunday? Instead, we operate a Youth Church every Sunday, except the 1st Sunday when the 9.30 Extra service is held.

Youth Church is lively, fun and exciting and caters for young people aged 3 and up to 18. We use the Scripture Union teaching material and audio visuals. Participation is encouraged through music, art and drama.

For the older members of the Youth Church we also offer a Youth Alpha course and the opportunity to get away from their parents for a week or so over the summer holidays and meet up with youth groups from other churches.

For details contact the Youth Church Leader Robin Wildblood via the Church Office, (461 678

Fishermen's Club

The club meets four times a week for Parents/Carers and Toddlers and provides an opportunity to chat and have coffee while the children play. Drinks and biscuits are also provided for the children. Meetings are held on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings between 9.30am and 11.00am. For more information or to put your name on the waiting list, contact Caroline Masters via the Church Office, (461 678
